We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, enthusiastic, and dedicated teacher who can work alongside and support our school community in our continued pursuit of a holistic education.

The English Department is held in high regard at Pavna International School (PIS) and is an essential part of our curriculum, with the idea being that many students will choose to study the subject up until Stage 13.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher of English to work in our lower secondary section, with potential opportunities for the right candidate to teach IGCSE and A Level in the future.

 

Job Description

1: Learning and Teaching

  • Plan and deliver outstanding English lessons to both boys and girls.
  • Ensure high-quality education, attainment, and progress for all students.
  • Track, monitor, evaluate, and review student progress, achievement, and attainment.
  • Ensure effective teaching strategies that enable all students to learn optimally.
  • Deliver and demonstrate enquiry-based teaching through his or her own teaching commitment.
  • Make learning and teaching opportunities relevant by making connections to the real world.
  • Use assessment for, as, and as learning strategies in order to personalize and accelerate student learning.
  • Take responsibility for the implementation of short-, medium-, and long-term curriculum planning within the subjects taught.
  • Have knowledge of effective strategies to include and meet the needs of all students within your class, including higher and lower attaining students, EAL, SEN, and G&T students;
  • Any other teaching duties and responsibilities deemed reasonable by the principal

2: Professional Skills and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in English is an essential requirement for this position. Possession of a PGCE, QTS, or other equivalent teaching qualification is mandatory. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate recent and relevant experience in:
  • Excellent classroom practice and pedagogy in secondary education
  • Continuous professional development
  • Digital learning and the use of ICT across the curriculum
  • Effective involvement and engagement with parents
  • Behavior management and child protection

3: Personal Skills and Attributes

Applicants should:

  • Demonstrate a high level of commitment and professionalism.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Be able to create and maintain effective partnerships with staff, the school administration, parents, students, and the wider school community.
  • Be able to work independently and on your own initiative.

Openings: Male Hostel Warden and Female Hostel Warden

Experience: 5 years and above

Salary: Negotiable

Nature of Position: Full-time

Job Description

We are seeking experienced, dedicated, and enthusiastic male and female hostel wardens to administer our school hostels. The candidates should have notable experience managing student hostel facilities and have a background in physical education.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Ensuring proper discipline and conduct within the hostel.

Ensuring the safety and welfare of all hostel residents.

Organizing physical education activities for boarders that promote their health and well-being

Carrying out regular inspections of hostel facilities to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance.

Handling administrative work related to the hostel, such as maintaining student records, managing hostel budgets, and coordinating with caterers.

Addressing the personal, social, or academic concerns of hostel residents and mediating in disputes.

Cooperating with school bodies, including teachers, staff, and parents, to ensure every student’s holistic development.

Required Qualifications and Experience

A bachelor’s or higher degree in physical education or related fields.

A minimum of 5 years of experience as a hostel warden or similar role.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong administrative and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills

The ability to work effectively with young people from various backgrounds

A strong commitment to the well-being and safety of students.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to handle challenging situations.

Physical fitness and the ability to organize and supervise student sports and physical fitness activities
