Early Years: 1 & 2 (Nursery & Prep)

At Pavna, we believe that creativity involves purposeful play. Our learning-through-play approach in the Early Years is the means by which we inspire our young learners to develop that early love of learning, increasing and deepening key age-appropriate skills, knowledge and understanding.

We follow the Framework of the Cambridge Curriculum for Early Years.

Our Early Years curriculum focuses on the Cambridge Six Areas of Learning….

1. Communication, Language and Literacy
2. Creative Expression
3. Mathematics
4. Personal, Social and Emotional Development
5. Physical Development and
6. Understanding the World

This ensures an enjoyable, holistic, balanced and learning-rich experience for our young students every day.

Our experienced teachers plan activities that develop children’s abilities, skills and aptitudes in the above six areas of learning, adapting learning moments to ensure children’s individual needs and progress against key development milestones are met.

Above all, our children enjoy coming to school. They engage in a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, infused with sensory and tactile learning experiences. For children whose first language is not English, we are proud that they make such good progress so quickly in speaking and understanding English. In Early Years 2 we begin a more formal approach to learning English phonics.

We believe in the importance of parents as key partners in children’s learning, and we therefore maintain open communication with parents, sharing feedback and insights regularly. We encourage parents to read, share books and other reading materials, to play with their child, and to talk with them at home and outside of school about their learning.

We have excellent facilities, including a specialist dance studio, interactive TVs in each room and a dedicated multi-purpose activity room (called the “Pick-A-Tale-Room”) where children can – among many other activities – climb, role play and make larger constructions.

Primary: Stage 1 TO 6 (Play Group - Class 5)

The Cambridge Primary is a 6-year program for learners aged 5 to 11 years. The emphasis is on providing each student with a broad and balanced learning curriculum.
The program offers a variety of subjects; English as a first language, Mathematics, Science, Global Perspectives, Music, Digital Literacy, Computing, Physical Education and the Creative Arts.
Making the right decision for oneself is a skill that we allow our students to acquire by encouraging them to explore and learn from their mistakes. The curriculum is flexible and schools can offer subjects available in any combination.
How do we ensure your child is all set to leap into the next stage of education?

At the end of the program, students take the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint tests, an external international benchmark for learner performance that provides feedback on learners’ strengths and areas for growth.

In the Primary School we endeavour to provide a safe and diversified environment to nurture the inherent curiosity and latent love of learning in each child. The focus is on laying the foundation for developing their intelligence quotient, social quotient, physical quotient, spiritual quotient, emotional quotient and technological quotient.

Lower Secondary - Stage 7 TO 13 (Class 6 - 12)

After the foundation is set during the Cambridge Primary Years, at Lower secondary learners get the chance to further their understanding of all subjects. The Cambridge Lower Secondary is a 3-year program for learners aged 11 to 14 years.

From a very young age, students at Pavna are encouraged to find solutions by reflecting on their own understanding of a given topic. It helps broaden their thinking and solution-finding abilities.

As students become more resourceful and innovative, they automatically develop the confidence, skills and understanding to move towards some of the world’s most prestigious and toughest competitive exams. At the end of Lower Secondary, students take the Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint tests.

ACADEMIC

The broad and balanced Lower Secondary curriculum lays emphasis on integrated learning and enables students to develop a comprehensive understanding of subjects. Through research-based project work and collaborative learning opportunities, students can enhance their critical thinking, research and innovation. They are also able to discover themselves, their capabilities and potential for their future choices.

At PIS Students are motivated to compete with each other by way of inter-house and inter-school competitions and tournaments. An academic year is typically infused with several sporting championships.

Upper Secondary (Stage 10 & 11)

The Cambridge Upper Secondary offers the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (or IGCSE) for learners aged 14 to 16 years.
We at Pavna follow the IGCSE board which is in fact the world’s most popular international qualification and is taken in over 5000 Schools in over 150 countries. Students usually study 9 subjects and the qualifications are internationally recognised.
The programme is usually taken over a two-year period. IGCSE is tailored for a wider ability range of students with a broader grading system and offers more subject options for learners.

ACADEMIC

At Cambridge Upper Secondary, students are prepared for Cambridge IGCSE which is the world’s most popular international qualification which aligns students to be on the same level as their global counterparts. Apart from core subjects, the students have a wide variety of subjects to choose from. Encouraging learners to engage with a variety of subjects, and make connections between them, is fundamental to the Cambridge approach.
